Proper lighting is very important for homes as without them one would not be able to carry his/her work. Apart from this basic need, lights make your house look beautiful. So, it becomes very important to carefully select the lights for your home.
The lights should be chosen in such a way that they go well with the entire design of the home and suits the environment. So appropriate lights should be selected for different places in the house like kitchen , bathrooms, bedrooms etc.
Kitchen is a place where you and your family spends a lot of time. It should be well lit so that you like spending time there. A ceiling fixture that lights the whole kitchen area is a must. If you have a kitchen table, then lamps with dimming switches area good option as you can regulate the brightness through them. One should also think about a proper color scheme while choosing the lights for kitchen.
For Bathrooms, one can decide the lights according to its size. Recessed lighting in an enclosed shower stall is a must. Fixtures mounted on the side of the mirrors can be used. If you have a jacuzzi tub, a ceiling fixture with a dimmer switch is a good option.
Beautiful Chandeliers are used to enhance the look of a dining room. A chandelier should be hung 30 inches above the table top and should be at least 6 inches narrower than the table on each side.
Bedrooms does not require a ceiling fixture. You can go in for beautiful night lamps like the LED round night lamps. One can also use mini pendant lights for bedroom as per their own choice.
Family rooms are the ones where members of the family sit together for chit chats, play games, have parties etc. So it should be lit accordingly. A ceiling fixture with a dimming switch is a must which will give a wonderful look during a party. There should be separate lights for game table if any and table lamps should be there next to easy chairs for reading purpose.
