24 Hours in the Life of an Affiliate Marketer
With the advent of the internet, affiliate marketing has become a fast and efficient way of doing business. In the old days everything was done by telephone, now you just have to hit a few keys on your computer.
So with technology at hand, and assuming that the affiliate is working from home, a day in his or her life would sound something like this
The first thing that I do each day is to check in to see if and how many sales I have made since yesterday. After all, this is why I am in the business so it makes sense to check this first.
It may be that you will have to re-design the site slightly. This is important as a well-designed site will increase your visitors, and your business.
When you have completed that task it is time to submit your program to those directories that accept affiliate program submissions. I tend to do two or three of these submissions each day. Do more and it can become a bit tedious.
Next up is to see and record what sales you are getting from your affiliates. You may also need to answer and respond to phone orders, and emails. Make sure you jot down somewhere any contact information you might receive, so that you can follow up later.
But I don’t just sit back and leave it at that. I have to keep on putting myself in front of potential customers, and this may mean considering new ads, thinking about banner ads, and maybe even ppc’s.
The next thing that I do is to get up to date with any queries or questions from potential customers. Dont put off answering them, as they may lose interest.
Nobody likes to be kept waiting, and customers nowadays expect speedy and professional service, so give it to them.
After this I would suggest logging on to a few forums and chat rooms where you can meet other people in your business, and learn new things which will help promote your business.
Don’t be afraid to share whatever knowledge you might have with others. People will respect you for doing so, and might even join your program when they see how helpful you are.
The newsletters and ezines were updated days ago, so it is time for the affiliate marketer to see if there are some new things happening in the market. This will be written about in the marketers publication to be distributed to the old and new customers.
And also its time to skim read any publications which you might take on a regular basis, just so that you can keep in touch with what going on in your particular field of interest.
Following this, a little bit of appreciation for those who have helped you along the way would not go amiss.
Of course, this will be published in the newsletters. Among the more important information that has been written already.
And you can also spend some time posting comments on the various sites that are frequented by those people keen to get into the business.
The advantage to you in this is that you can promote both the product, and the program.
Time flies. Missed lunch but is quite contented with the tasks done. Bed time.
Now I know that this is rather a lot for one day, but I just wanted to pack it all in so that you got a good idea of a day in the life of an affiliate marketer.
